Hartecs were engaged by RoadTek CQ to estimate, prepare and project manage the upgrade of a 520m Floodway on the Capricorn Highway 4kms east of Emerald. The existing floodway had a Q2 flood immunity was very prone to overtopping. The scope involved the replacement of the existing 600mm RCPs with 16 and 26 cell slab link box culvert structures and raising the vertical profile of the road formation by approx. 1.1m to provide a Q50 flood immunity. Hartecs worked closely with the Principal and the Administration team to ensure that the project was completed within the limited funding and time constraints.
