Construction and Infrastructure – Project Development, Contract Management and Delivery.
The Bruce Highway through and North of the township of Mt Larcom has a significant history of pavement failures. RoadTek were awarded the Mt Larcom Widening and Strengthening Project by the Department of Transport and Main Roads which involved the reconstruction of 3.5km of the existing highway including an intersection upgrade and the construction of a Heavy Vehicle Stopping Place.
Works included
– Replacement of existing drainage structures (including Pipe Jacking).
– Bulk Earthworks.
– Winning and processing of fill general fill material.
– Detailed excavations.
– Formation widening of the existing road.
– Significant shape correction and In situ Stabilization.
– Grader placed pavement base overlay.
Due to funding, design and time constraints the project was delivered under the conditions of the Relational Incentive Contract (RIC). Using an “open book” method of delivery ensured that the principal got value for money and allowed changes in time and scope to be easily managed.
In the development phase of the project, Hartecs Group were responsible for preparing the Tender Submission including; project estimation, scheduling, procurement, and assisting with the financial approval process on behalf of RoadTek and TMR. Hartecs Group is now managing the RIC and providing assistance with contract administration and verification, project management and support for system and process development during implementation.
