In March 2017, Queensland was hit by Tropical Cyclone Debbie, resulting in significant flooding events that damaged the state controlled road network.

The works specifically involves restoration of damage caused by the 17E flooding event to the highways across Central Queensland, as well as complimentary packages.

The main pavement construction activities include in-situ stabilization, bituminous surfacing and repairs to existing drainage structures via desilt, select fill and batter protection items.

Summary of Contract Administrator tasks:

  •  Verify the contractor’s contract management plans.
  • Evaluate the contractors performance.
  • Carry out administration and surveillance of contract works.
  • Assessment of design issues and scope changes.
  • Review and approve contractor construction  program.
  • Assess and arrange for payment of progress claims.
  • Management of variations and the project and CAVS team budget.
  • Monitoring all expenditure against budget reporting.
  • Issue certificates of practical and final completion.
